Miss Chain of Lakes 2023 Alexis Lombard

Miss Chain of Lakes 2023 Alexis Lombard is committed to solving the emergency in health disparities. Her experiences as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), showed her how many people are at risk because of inequities. She has set her academic and career goals on medicine so she can become a physician who aspires to build preventive programs and drive legislative reform that combats preventable health conditions and premature death. Alexis attends Winona State University where she studies political science and biology as a double major, and ethnic studies and global studies as a double minor.
Alexis is certified as a National Registered Emergency Medical Technician and American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider with additional training in FEMA emergency management and Incident Command System Training for Terrorism, Hazardous Materials, and Weapons of Mass Destruction. With this training and more, she is a varianced provider of advanced life support care when responding to 9-1-1 calls in the Hennepin County region of Minnesota.
Her social impact initiative Code Thr”EEE” is named for an emergency situation that merits flashing lights and sirens. She uses this metaphor to organize principles of action to urgently address healthcare disparities. It starts with Education, grows through Empowerment, and Ends with reducing preventable health conditions through policies for accessible care for people without discrimination by race, gender identification, or socio-economic status.
When not fighting for justice, Alexis enjoys knife throwing, slipping into the Marvel Universe, or cooking up the latest Pinterest-induced craving. Some of the best things that came from the quarantine period of the Coronavirus pandemic are her hobbies of billiards, weightlifting, and longboarding. Alexis's favorite past-times are spent in her vehicle (even though it isn't an ambulance): Whether it is deep cleaning her car for about 7 hours, listening to the latest audiobook or diverse selection of music, or road-tripping with her border collie, Sadie.
