MISS CHAIN OF LAKES SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

​Miss Chain of Lakes/Miss Capital City Competition
Steps and Paperwork
​

Eligible Miss candidate is a high school graduate, and age 18-26


If you win, you need to be available For:
Miss Minnesota Orientation, a 2 day session usually in late March or early April
Miss Minnesota week is June 12 through 17, 2022

Checklist with deadlines

Step 1: Complete the Contract
1. Confirm your eligibility and get approval to apply. Email your contract with evidence of birthdate and Minnesota residence eligibility (see checklist for email address) and if there is still space on the roster, you will be allowed to proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Register at Miss America
2. Sign up with the Miss America Organization. The fee of $35 gives you access to the many benefits of the Miss America Organization, whether or not you go on to compete in a local competition. You only need to pay this fee one time per year.
Step 3: Select the local competition
3. Select Minnesota, Miss America, and write in either Miss Chain of Lakes or Miss Capital City in the Local Competition. The fee of $75 officially enrolls you to compete on January 8, 2022. Email your email confirmation to the address in the checklist and you will be sent further information about events leading up to the competition and preparation tips. 

Step 4: Resume & Social Impact, etc
4. Decide what talent you will present. Rules about talent are in the instructions. Send your talent track in MP3 format only.
Create your resume and social impact statement using the instructions and email your paperwork as a 2 pg pdf (Resume pg 1, SII pg 2)
Portrait (headshot) guidelines are also in the instructions Your portrait will be shared with the judges and on social media.

Once you have completed the above steps, you are ready to compete. Be sure to invite your friends and family to buy their tickets in advance. We offer each contestant the opportunity to purchase a video package that includes your private interview for you to use for your personal improvement (see online store).
